Inconel is an austenitic grade of stainless steel. It is used to produce various products and is divided into various grades depending upon the properties inherited by it. Inconel 600 Plate is one such type of product that has non-magnetic properties. They resist general corrosion such as pitting and crevice. Moreover, these N06600 Sheets also offer the ability to heat or cold form. They provide resistance to stress related corrosion and aging in annealed as well as heavily cold worked range. UNS N06600 Strip thus avoids chloride ion stress corrosion cracking.

ASTM B168 UNS N06600 plate is also said to be resistant to oxidation. Hence Inconel Plate is suitable for applications and services that are prone to oxidation. This is in the case of services and applications that are exposed to high temperatures or pressure. 2.4816 Foil forms a thick layer of stable and passivated oxide when heated. This layer protects the metal from further corrosion attacks. Since N06600 Sheet displayed good tensile strength over a range of temperature it is demanded by customers for high temperature applications. This is because the thermally induced crystal vacancies tend to fail aluminum and conventional steel against creep.
