Inconel 617 Plate (UNS N06617/W.Nr. 2.4663a) is a solid-solution, strengthened, nickel-chromium-cobalt- molybdenum alloy plate with an exceptional combination of high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance. Alloy 617 Plate also has excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments, and Nicrofer 617 Plate is readily formed and welded by conventional techniques.

Inconel 617 plate can be machined using conventional machining methods which are used for iron-based alloys. Machining operations are performed using commercial coolants. High-speed operations such as grinding, milling or turning, are performed using water-base coolants. Nickel Alloy 617 Sheet is welded using gas-tungsten arc welding, shielded metal-arc welding, gas metal-arc welding, and submerged-arc welding methods.
