253MA Steel Pipe:

253MA Steel Pipe is made of an austenitic, chromium-nickel stainless steel with heat resistance and high strength. 253MA Stainless Steel Pipe is alloyed with nitrogen and reactive elements suitable for a wide range of high-temperature applications. The use of rare earth metals in combination with silicon gives superior oxidation resistance up to 1150°C.

S31805 Stainless Steel Pipe contains fairly low nickel content, which gives 253MA Steel Pipe some advantage in reducing sulphide atmospheres when compared to high nickel alloys and to Grade 310. The inclusion of high silicon, nitrogen and cerium contents gives 1.4835 SS2368 Seamless Pipe good oxide stability, high elevated temperature strength and excellent resistance to sigma phase precipitation.

The austenitic structure gives UNS S30815 253MA Pipe excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures. These 253 MA Pipe properties are specified for flat rolled product (stainless steel plate, sheet and coil) as Grade S30815 in ASTM A240/A240M. Similar but not necessarily identical properties are specified for other products such as pipe and bar in their respective specifications.
