Inconel Alloy 600 is a nickel-chromium alloy designed for use at cryogenic temperatures and up to 2000˚F (1093˚C). The high nickel content of the Inconel 600 Coil provides good resistance to reducing environments, while the chromium content provides resistance to weaker oxidizing conditions. The high nickel content of the ASTM B443 UNS N06600 Plate provides exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. Inconel 600 Sheet is often used in the chemical industry, heat treating industry, electrical, nuclear and aeronautical fields.

Inconel 600 Coils are oxidation corrosion resistant materials well suited for service in extreme environments subjected to pressure and heat. When heated, Inconel forms a thick, stable, passivating oxide layer protecting the surface from further attack. 2.4816 Inconel 600 Coil retains strength over a wide temperature range, attractive for high-temperature applications where aluminum and steel would succumb to creep as a result of thermally-induced crystal vacancies. ASTM B168 UNS N06600 Shim Sheet’s high-temperature strength is developed by solid solution strengthening or precipitation hardening, depending on the alloy.
