TP317L Pipe:

TP317L Pipe is made of an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel that has high resistance to corrosion. ASTM A312 Stainless Steel 317 Pipe"s tensile and creep strength as well as its corrosion resistance are highest amongst the 300 series. 317L Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe owes its superior pitting resistance to the high molybdenum content within the alloy. Since SA312 317L Stainless Steel Pipe is corrosion and oxidation resistant it is used in many industries where sanitary equipment is important. TheseASTM A312 TP 317L Stainless Steel Pipes are used for food processing equipment, marine components, pulp and paper applications as well as components in the oil and gas industry.

TP317L Pipe Alloy is an even lower carbon concentration version of 317. This increases its resistance to corrosion which is already high due to the chromium-nickel-molybdenum mix of this alloy. Werkstoff Nr. 1.4438 Pipe can be used in its welded condition because of the low amounts of inter-granular corrosion caused during the welding process. This alloy remains non-magnetic in its annealed state. Since the alloy is austenitic in nature it cannot be hardened by heat treatment however cold working is a viable option.
